Iceland Post employs around 1,300 people in about 1,000 full-time equivalent positions. There are 88 workplaces, but this number is dropping as the company seeks out collaboration with partner companies likes shops and banks that offer postal services.
Iceland Post maintains a diverse workplace. Work includes mail carrying, delivery, front-end retail, sorting in mail facilities, sales and marketing, accounting and human resources.
The staff is among the company's most important resources and there is a concerted effort to ensure that employees enjoy the best facilities possible, including workplace safety as well as social components in the work environment.
Education

Education is a key factor as a competent and well-trained staff is an important component in the company.
The company's employee policy states that the staff are recruited for their diligence and effort is made to ensure the employee feels confident in his or her position. The managers should exhibit skills in communication, flexibility, initiative and positive thinking as well as maintaining unity and a good morale in the company's workplaces.
Employee Organization
An active employee organization has organized summer trips, holiday gathers, game nights, hiking treks and other events. Employees enjoy the organization and participation is generally high.
In addition to the annual Mailman Walk, which includes about 200 participants, and the summer employee festival, Iceland Post organizes a splendid annual party where between 900 and 1000 people gather and enjoy a nice evening together.
