Post codes
Post codes are used for mail delivery around the country. Mail sorting is based on post codes.
On Iceland Post's website you can access databases that can be used by your computer system. When planning to deliver mail to certain post code areas you will need information about the number of homes and businesses per post code. The numbers indicate how many homes and businesses accept receiving unaddressed advertising mail. The map of Iceland shows post codes and post offices.
The list of post codes gives an overview of all post codes. There you can see which streets are in each post code. By writing the street name in nominative form and without the streetnumber you will see the correct post code.
