Duty-free procedure

If an item of mail is deemed duty-free, then it is treated as though duty has been paid and delivered to the recipient by Iceland Post’s distribution network.

A simple report may be used for an item of mail going through the customs procedure if it fulfils the following conditions:
-
The total value of the item of mail is less than ISK 40,000. The total value of the item of mail includes the value of additional transport costs and all postage costs paid to the sender.
-
The import may not be trade related. This service is intended for individuals only.
-
The invoice or confirmation from the sender of the value of the mail item.
-
Up to three customs categories may be entered on a single report.
